The Super Power of Our Values
Do you know your values? Do you keep them where you can always see them? Do you use them as a source of inspiration or fresh perspective? Do you use them for clarity when something doesn’t feel right?
Getting clear on your values can be a gamechanger in living more authentically, with more passion, power and purpose.
Unlike organizations, you don’t choose your values. They are a part of who you are and what makes you unique in the world - yours to discover. They are part of the inner navigation system that tells you when you are on the right path. When you live in alignment with your values you feel good from the inside out, have greater clarity, impact, and confidence, and you make better decisions
When your values are being stepped on or not being honoured you feel frustrated, stuck, and rudderless.
Tuning into your values can help you flip from a negative to a positive mindset in moments. Shared values can build bridges, and boost morale.
Defining your values is a process but here are some ways to start:
Take time to call to mind 5 moments when you have felt really inspired and fulfilled. Jot down what was happening, who was there, what was so special about it. When you have 5, notice any themes between them.
Reflect on a few times when you have felt really outraged. Which values may be at the heart of your feelings?
